Are these guaranteed loads?

We specialize in expedited, hot-shot, emergency shipments so loads are not guaranteed. With last minute and time-critical shipments being majority of the business loads come and go.  To be successful in expediting you have to be open to all shipments.

If so are they daily?

Yes, we do our best to get you moving as much as possible, however there are wait times. On certain days of the week or months of the year it will get slow. We advice visiting a gym or library.

Monday through Friday?

Yes, we dispatch and are looking for shipments from 8am to 7pm. Drivers are expected to be ready by 9-10am and wait till 5-6pm to get loaded. All times in Eastern.

Do we have the option to turn down loads?

When you are offered a load you have the choice to yes or no. If you verbally agree to a load offer you agree to do the shipment, then there is no backing out.  However, if a customer or brokers is asking us to match a lower price than what we agreed to, then we have the option to agree to their lower price, use our original rate, or meet somewhere in the middle.

What cargo are we hauling?

You will be hauling general cargo, freight of all kind is the insurance terminology. You will most likely be transporting anything from 3lbs to 3,000lbs. Sometimes its plastic molding samples, other times its large semi truck engines or other car parts.

Do we ever have to go inside peoples homes or touch the freight?

95% are no touch freight, if you do touch freight we will ask for $50-$150 for labor depending on how much weight you have to load or unload.

Are these one or two man truck routes?

It depends, mostly it's one person truck loads, but sometimes brokers require teams (two people in the van) and in that case we can charge a little bit more than usual.

Are there any set hours to work?

There are no set hours. This is expedite and hot shot so loads come and go really quickly.  We send a morning text out by 8am and hope drivers respond back by 10am. Ready to drive and be "on the clock" till 6pm EST. Please know that there might be late night pick ups like after 8pm or midnight. We will schedule those ahead of time for you and pay a higher than normal fee.

Are you hiring owner operators?  Local or OTR?

We hire all company drivers and owner operators who own their own sprinter vans. Click Here and you can find our requirements and learn more about our drivers. Please note that we hire local only drivers in select markets. In this business if you want to make money you have to drive OTR.

What's the mileage rate? How much do you pay per mile?

Prices per mile change frequently as the market changes. Everyday it could be a different price based off the supply and demand. Typically loads under 50 miles will be $5 to $10 per mile. Loads at 100 miles are paying anywhere from $2 to $3 per mile. Loads over 350 miles will be paying $1 per mile. Shipments over 600 miles can pay anywhere from 70 cents a mile to $1 per mile it just depends on the locations and the weight. But loads leaving Laredo will be 70 to 80 cents a mile. Its not our price its the market price. We just do our best to get you the best and highest rate for that market.

How much money do i make?

Each driver and vehicle is unique so they have different goals. For example, our gross goal for local drivers who wish to be home every night is $1500 per week. Compare that to another driver who drives over the road and is home only on the weekends will gross $2500. Those drivers with no preferences and take shipments over the weekend will gross $3500 per week.
